On August 2, 1971, a Bulova chronograph was worn on the Moon, designed for the needs of the lunar environment. Now the Bulova Lunar Pilot 96A299 watch takes the design and updates it with a unique high-precision quartz movement, continuing its Archive series legacy of precision timekeeping. The Lunar Pilot Chronograph features the same 43.5mm silver stainless steel case as the original Bulova Chronograph. The slim chronograph pushers and crown with the tuning fork-shaped Bulova logo are positioned at the 3 o'clock position. Under the flat sapphire crystal, the six-hand chronograph dial features a black and silver design, with a tachymeter ring and retro Bulova name. The slim hands and applied indices offer exceptional readability and are coated with super luminova for viewing in low-light conditions. The recessed and circularly fluted subdials include a 1/20 chronograph seconds counter at the 3 o'clock position, a running seconds hand at the 6 o'clock position, and a chronograph 60-minute counter at the 9 o'clock position. The Lunar Pilot is powered by the quartz movement at high precision patented by Bulova, which resonates at a frequency of 262 kHz for unrivaled precision and which allows for a smooth-running chronograph hand and seconds hand. The watch is paired with a silver-colored 3-link stainless steel bracelet with push-button deployment clasp, equipped with an easy release system for quick replacement of the strap (an accessory strap is not provided for the Italian market).
A modern interpretation of a historic watch, the Bulova Lunar Pilot is the ideal watch for today's explorers.
